UBP MP Emrah Yeşilırmak announced that the 51/95 Municipalities Amendment Bill has been referred to the General Assembly of the Assembly of the Republic.

At its meeting today, the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee of the Assembly of the Republic of Turkey approved the “Municipalities (Amendment) Draft Law (Y.T.No:1/1/2022)” and the “Municipalities (Amendment) Draft Law (Y.T.No:7/1/2022)” by a majority of votes and referred them to the agenda of the General Assembly of the Assembly.

According to the statement made by the Parliament, the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee of the Assembly of the Republic today, UBP MP Committee Chairman Özdemir Berova chaired by the President.

The Committee discussed the “Municipalities (Amendment) Bill (Y.T.No:1/1/2022)” and the “Municipalities (Amendment) Bill (Y.T.No:7/1/2022)”, which were on its agenda and which it had previously decided to discuss by combining them.

The Committee approved the “Municipalities (Amendment) Draft Law (Y.T.No:1/1/2022)” and the “Municipalities (Amendment) Draft Law (Y.T.No:7/1/2022)” with a majority of votes and referred them to the plenary agenda.

Minister of Interior Ziya Öztürkler Officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Interior attended the committee meeting as invited guests and gave their views on the issue.

Deputy Chairman of the Committee, CTP MP Filiz Besim, committee members UBP MP Ahmet Savaşan, CTP MP Devrim Barçın and UBP MP Emrah Yesilirmak attended. The meeting was also attended by UBP MP Hasan Kucuk, CTP MPs Teberrüken Uluçay, Erkut Şahali and Independent MP Aysegul Baybars also participated.

YEŞILIRMAK: “NO MORE 51/95, THERE IS 51/2023”

National Unity Party (UBP) MP Emrah Yesilirmak, “This law, which has not been changed for many years, has come to life with the will of our government within the scope of the reform,” he said on his social media account.

Yeşilırmak continued his statement as follows:

“As a citizen who has been a mayor before, I would like to state that the realization of this law is of vital importance for the development and progress of our country. I hope that this law, which we finalized by working day and night with committee members during the whole summer period, will be auspicious for our country. I would like to sincerely thank the chairman of the committee, committee members, mayors, deputies, trade unions, non-governmental organizations, parliamentary staff, employees in all ministries and our prime minister who constantly expressed his support to us.”

Yeşilırmak said, “The process of development from the local level starts with this reform and change. There is no more 51/95, there is 51/2023. May it be auspicious...”.
